Ronald Gene Clay, Sr

Springfield- Mr. Ronald Gene Clay, Sr., 86, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Hospice Savannah.

Mr. Ronald was born in Normal, IL, on March 15, 1931, to Robert Henry Clay and Leta Mae Parrish Clay. He was a loving husband, father, granddad, great granddad and friend. He never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Ronald Gene Clay, Jr., Michael Clay, and Billy Rogers; brothers, Robert Henry Clay and Rodger Clay; and sisters, Dorothy Clay and Dorelynn Clay-Bennett.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Maureen O'Bryan; sons, Mike Rogers of Springfield, Ricky Rogers of Rincon, Justin Clay of Port Wentworth and Jeremy Clay of Port Wentworth; daughters, Kimberly Clay of Port Wentworth and Rhonda Scott of Rincon; honorary son, Jesse Oakes; special grandchildren, Terry Scott, Sebastian Oakes, Elijah Oakes, JJ Clay, JR., Braydon Clay, Alaunna Clay, and Emma Gene Clay; a number of other grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 10 - 11a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be held in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made in memory of Mr. Ronald to Hospice Savannah Foundation, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah GA 31416.
