Sara "Cuff" Ruth Caldwell

Sara “Cuff” Ruth Caldwell, age 60, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Ms. Sara was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on December 10, 1960 and lived in Effingham County for more than 30 years.  After she retired from restaurant management, Sara enjoyed summer days around the pool, watching her “Dawgs” play, and above all enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her and will always be remembered for her loving nature, wisdom, and outgoing personality.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Sara Mills Caldwell and Gilbert Caldwell; two brothers Madison G. Caldwell and Robert Caldwell; and one sister, Kathleen Caldwell.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Mike and Tina Caldwell of Guyton; grandchildren, Madison Caldwell and Drake Caldwell; brothers Joey Caldwell of Statesboro and Kenneth Caldwell of Sardis, and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 25th from 10-11:00am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00am at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
