Mrs. Shirley J. Myrick passed away at The Oaks at Pooler on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
Shirley was born in Riceboro, Georgia on December 17, 1941, to Claudis and Janie Jackson. She has lived in Guyton for over 50 years and worked for Georgia Pacific for 36 years. In her free time, Shirley could often be found enjoying a cup of coffee in the mornings or watching John Wayne Westerns.
Shirley also enjoyed helping others and believed in always extending kindness to any stranger she met. Finding joy in sharing the simplest of times with the people she loved the most, she was truly loved by all who knew her. Shirley loved her family and friends more than anything in the world.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace W. Myrick; parents, Claudis and Janie Jackson; and her two eldest sisters, Irene Barnett and Elizabeth McVey.
Survivors include: her children, Roy Myrick, Bird Myrick, Randy Farmer, Susan Luke, Angel Myrick Hart (Paul), and Charley Myrick all of Guyton; grandchildren, Jon Tebeau, Jimmy Tebeau, Ricky Myrick, Joe Myrick, and Tyler Myrick; great grandchildren, Jennifer Maddox, Ashley Nease (Casey), Olivia Tebeau and Travis Tebeau; great great grandchildren, Scarlett and Eleanor Nease; brother, Bobby Jackson of Guyton; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 5 – 7pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11am with interment to follow in the Guyton Cemetery.
