Sunny Godwin

Sunny came to live with her loving and caring owner, Marion Godwin in 1984. At the time that he got her from the breeder, she was already in her 20s or even her 30s and then lived with Mr. Marion for the next 40 years.

Sunny played a big role in Marions life as she even played a part in his engagement to his wife. On the day of their engagement Mr. Marion tied the engagement ring around her shell to propose and then spent two hours looking for the ring because Sunny had lost it.

She was far from being just a boring turtle. Sunny enjoyed climbing on top of her house and sliding off repeatedly -- she dreamed of being a ninja turtle! She always found pleasure in sitting in her food dish and of course, drag food all over her terrarium just so Marion would have to clean the tank again. She made a daily habit of torturing her sister Sixpence, who also has been with the family for 40 years, by pushing her out of their house. Sunny enjoyed twirling in circles because she was crazy of course and eating her favorite foods, green beans with diced ham.

Sunny’s family has so many wonderful memories with her. Her daddy never would have thought that such a small little turtle would have such an impact on his life, especially after 40 years. She brought her family endless happiness and will be missed greatly.
