Thomas “Elvis” Edward Cook, Sr., 67, passed away, Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Cook was born on June 28, 1954, in Savannah to the late Thomas and Mary Cook. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where he sang for the church.
Known by “Elvis” to many, Mr. Cook had an impactful work career. He worked as a truck driver for Hutchinson Transport, and in his free time enjoyed volunteering. He was a volunteer firefighter for Guyton before retiring as an assistant chief. His most recent job was with Roebling Road Raceway as a master corner marshal at turn station 6. Known by his family as Mr. Fix It, he loved wood working and being the general handy man for his family. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Mr. Cook is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Franklin and Mary Frisbee Cook; and brother, Ben Cunningham.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Brenda NeSmith Cook; sons, Thomas Cook, Jr., Joshua Cook, and Matthew Cook; mother-in-law, Joan NeSmith; and sister-in-law, Pam NeSmith.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.
