Springfield

Thomas Green Pennix, 84 of Springfield, Georgia died of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) on Friday, July 5, 2024.

He was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1939 to Estel and Pagny Pennix. Thomas was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 13 years of age. He was a zealous proclaimer of God’s Kingdom and helped many to get to know Jehovah. He was married to his wife of 65 years, Gladys (Blondie) Olmstead Pennix, in January 1959. During his lengthy career, Thomas worked as a bricklayer, postal worker and in maintenance at Georgia Southern University, where he retired. He loved gardening and was known for his distributing of produce every year to friends and family. Above all, his greatest legacy is his family of five girls, his love and devotion to them and his wife, and always having his radiant smile on his face.

Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Pennix.

Survivors include his wife, Blondie Pennix; his five daughters and their husbands, Michelle (Paul) Bauer, Melissa (Danny) Marriott, Lishia (Mike) Young, Jennifer (Tim) Marriott, and Julie (Eric) Fulk; his six grandchildren, Daniel Marriott, Shelby Marriott, Brittany Bauer, Houston Marriott, John Fulk, and Henry Fulk; his two great grandchildren, Chase and Hudson Marriott; and his brother, Timothy (Rita) Pennix.

At his request, a private family only graveside service will be held in Springfield Annex Cemetery on Sunday, July 7.

Donations to JW.ORG would be greatly appreciated.
