Waldo Stephen Emanuel

-Guyton- Mr. Waldo Stephen “Smoke” Emanuel, 65, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021, surrounded by his family at Candler Hospital.

Stephen spent his life as trucker, enjoying every moment. Other things he truly loved were racing, oyster roasts, being a jokester and cutting the fool with everyone he came in contact with. What gave him the greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, where eating was almost always on the agenda. To sum it up, Mr. Emanuel enjoyed life immensely.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack “Buster” and Lucia Emanuel; brother, Baby Boy Emanuel; grandchildren, Brittany, Dylan and Devon; nephew, Bryan Bowen; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Laura Emanuel; children: Wayne Harvey (Shawn) of Rincon, Brenda Ennis (Carl) of Ellabell, Glenda Achtziger (Robert) of Springfield, Stephen Emanuel Sr. of Springfield, Katie Adams (Daniel) of Guyton, Brian Emanuel of Guyton and step children, James Marcum, Stephen Knizek, and Jessica Mayers. Several grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as his best friends Shirley Emanuel, Kathy Smith (Donnie), Donna Lacerda, and Ronnie Williams (Delores); beloved imaginary dog, Spot; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, January 22, 2021, from 6 – 8pm. A Celebration of Life will be held pond side at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, January 23, 2020 at 11am.
