Our Moma, Wanda Sue Lanier Garrett, 81, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father, Friday morning, September 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Wanda was born March 10, 1943, in Savannah, GA and lived on the family farm in Guyton, GA for most of her life. She was dedicated to raising her two children and being a stay-at-home mother. Wanda also supported the family business by working side by side with her mother, daughter, and other relatives at “Granny’s Little House” which was a craft/floral shop. She attended church in Savannah and also at Pine Street Baptist Church in Guyton. Wanda loved spending time with her family more than anything. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Talmadge Theoplis Lanier; mother, Suejutte Edenfield Lanier; and brother, Allen Theoplis Lanier.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Franklin Garrett; two children, Melani Suejutte Ballew (Jason) and Matthew Franklin Garrett (Shonda); three grandchildren, Justin Ross Huggins, Hannah Koryn Ballew (Jonathan), and Jackson Franklin Garrett; two great grandchildren, Talmadge Ross Huggins, and Amelia Grace Huggins; and brother, Robert Henry Lanier.
Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home in Guyton on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 5pm-6pm with a memorial service to follow at 6pm in the chapel of the funeral home. A private interment will take place at the Guyton Cemetery.
