Willard “Red” Rone Morton, 83, passed away June 12, 2021, at Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Oliver, GA on March 26, 1938, to the late Henry and Florrie Morton. Willard had a lifelong career as a lineman for Utilities Construction Company and retired as a superintendent. He was a very faithful man. A member of Tusculum Christian Church and had a prayer shed at home that he would go spend time in daily in prayer. In his off time, he was a wonderful father and carpenter, building things and fixing things for everyone he loved. For enjoyment, you would find him on the river fishing, watching a Nascar race or enjoying a cookout/ fish fry with his family.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Sue Morton; his parents, Henry and Florrie Morton; his brothers and sisters; and grandson, Dylan Ray Smiley.
Survived by his daughters, Terry Armstrong (Tony), Debbie Williams (Dennis), Elizabeth Cassady, Wanda Rowell (Chris), and Cheryl Smiley (Bobby); brother, Bill Morton; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 11-12pm on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 12:00pm.
Interment will follow the service in Guyton Cemetery.
