William Nathaniel Scott, 93, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 28, 2024. Born on February 23, 1931, William lived a fulfilling life surrounded by his loving family.
In his long and fulfilling life, William cherished every moment he spent with his beloved family. Known for his passion for traveling, fishing, hunting, farming, and gardening in his younger days, he lived a life filled with adventure and love.
Apart from his long career as a heavy equipment operator of 43 years for Local Union 474 and outdoor pursuits, William had a deep appreciation for watching classic western shows and was a faithful member of Maranatha Family Church.
William will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and most importantly, treasured memories with those closest to him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Daisy Scott; brothers, Cecil Scott and Wilbur Scott; sisters, Doris Davis, Bertamae Bowen, and Christina Navarro; and daughter, Peggy Gordon.
Survivors include his loving wife of 72 years, Dorothy Scott; sons, Steve Scott (Sharon) of Springfield; daughter, Sandy Strunk (Charles) of Rincon; son-in-law, George Gordon of Guyton; grandchildren, Terry Scott (Jessica), William Gordon (Aubrey), Angie Nelly, Scott Walton (Tiffany), Amber Walton (Neil), Jessica Tant (Michael), Stephen Walton (Mia), and Christina Rogers; great grandchildren, Delana, Brianna, Makayla, Summer, Trinity, Nalani, Cole, Kyle, Chase, Noah, Addison, Makenzie, Brody, Claudia, and Greyson; great great grandchildren, Waylon and Luna; and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 5-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11am in the chapel of Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenhill Baptist Church Cemetery.
