Mr. Willie Lavonne Steed, 83, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
Mr. Lavonne was in the first graduating class of Effingham County High School in 1957 and retired from Union Camp after 36 years of service. He had many interests including, farming, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Joe Ollie Steed; his loving wife of 49 years, Mildred “Lib” Steed; and brother, Malcolm Steed.
Survivors include: his sons, Ardie Morgan of Springfield, Eddie Morgan (Tammy) of Springfield, and Timmy Steed (Jenny) of Springfield; daughters, Marcia Burns (Doug) of Springfield, and Denise Rahn (Bubba) of Springfield; brothers, Jerry Steed (Norma) of Clyo, Tommie Steed (Diane) of Springfield, and Randall Steed (Paula) of Springfield; sisters Martha Ann Patnaude (Pat) of Springfield, Betty Jo Mauro of Springfield, and Rachel Henry (Bobby) of Sylvania; Grandchildren, Travis Morgan (Lacie), Ashley Morgan (Darcy), Duane Miller, Michael Morgan (Lennie), Brendan Morgan (Jessie), Kimberly Bentley (Joe), Micheala Miller, Jarrid Burns, Heather Harrelson (Alex), Holly Burke (Thomas), Haylee Rahn, Logan Scott, and Corbin Steed; 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law Peggy Cannon of Metter; special brother-in-law Lannie Brant (Jan) of White Oak, Georgia; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Silver Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 1 -2pm with graveside services to begin at 2pm.
