W.T. "Tommy" Bailey

W. T. (Tommy) Bailey, Jr., 84, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He joined his wife (Tinie), who preceded him in death on their 62nd wedding anniversary 3 years ago on the same date. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, BG Nease and his parents, Bill and Latha Bailey.

He is survived by daughters: Norma Nease, Dona Rae (Olan) Butler, Ruth (Mike) Pippin, and Renee (Mark) Bennett and grandchildren: Ben (Lori), Matthew, and Micah (Heather) Nease, Thomas (Gina), and Glenn Butler, Danielle and Dillon Pippin, Kennith (Whitney) and Mikell Bennett. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. He is also survived by his 4 great grandchildren: Clair, Tucker, Dale, and Luke. He is survived by his 5 sisters: Latha Adams, Billie Knox, Linda Thompson, Jeannie Daniel, and Patricia Patten and a sister-in-law, Wellene Blackston and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bailey was an active member of Pineora Baptist Church having served as a deacon and head of the building and grounds committee. He served in the National Guard in 1953. He was a Master Plumber and a member of Local 188 Plumbers, Pipefitters, Steamfitters and HVAC with over 63 years of service.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 6 - 8 pm at Riggs Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Pineora Baptist Church. Mr. Bailey will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services.
